Powering Community Mental Health Care
As the statewide operational backbone for 35 regional mental health hubs, MACMHP bridges the gap between complex policy and clinic execution to unlock funding, build infrastructure, and keep care human-centered.
Community mental health programs matter
Behind every policy win and every program milestone are real people — patients, families, and communities across Minnesota who depend on the organizations MACMHP supports.
Community mental health is the answer to one of healthcare’s hardest challenges. While long-term hospitalization violates patients’ civil rights, and leaving people to suffer is inhumane, community mental health programs provide compassionate, coordinated care that keeps patients living at home and connected to their communities.

The Organization & the Network
Network of excellence
Convergence Integrated Care (CIC) is the clinically integrated network MACMHP created to put our mission into practice — connecting 14 member agencies around shared standards, value-based care models, and population health data.

CIC
The network
A clinically integrated network built by MACMHP to improve care, quality, outcomes, and advance value-based models across member agencies.
Our why
MACMHP works alongside legislators, agencies, and community partners to shape policies that strengthen Minnesota’s mental and chemical health system — ensuring sustainable funding, equitable access, and high-quality care for our communities.
Adequate & Sustainable Funding
State and federal reimbursement rates for community mental health services have not kept pace with the true cost of care. We advocate for rate structures that reflect the complexity of the patients our members serve and the full range of wrap-around services they provide.
Equal Access for All Minnesotans
No one should be turned away from mental or chemical health care because of their insurance status or ability to pay. We champion policies that protect and expand access for uninsured, underinsured, and publicly insured Minnesotans — including those in rural and underserved communities.
A Strong Community-Based System
Hospitalization is not the only answer — and often not the right one. We advocate for investment in community-based care models that keep people connected to their homes, families, and communities while receiving the coordinated, person-centered treatment they need.
