Our Story
A Legacy of Craftsmanship Since 1994
Founded by Dennis Stobbe in South Surrey with his brother Dale, Hyer Homes has spent more than three decades helping clients bring their vision of home to life.
Family owned and operated, what began as a local home-building business has grown through relationships, referrals and a shared commitment to quality. Over the years, we’ve built and renovated homes of all shapes and sizes, developing trusted relationships with skilled tradespeople, designers and industry professionals along the way.
Today, our work extends beyond South Surrey to communities throughout the Lower Mainland and Sea to Sky corridor. While the places we build continue to evolve, the principles behind our work remain the same: craftsmanship, integrity, collaboration and a genuinely personal approach.
We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all home-building experience. Every client, property and project is different, and we take pride in creating spaces that reflect the people who call them home.

Founder
Dennis
Since founding Hyer Homes in 1994, Dennis has spent more than three decades building exceptional homes and lasting client relationships. His hands-on approach, extensive construction experience and belief in bringing the right people together have shaped the company from the beginning.
For Dennis, building is about more than the finished home. It’s about understanding each client’s vision, creating a collaborative experience and delivering quality that lasts for generations.
Outside of work, Dennis enjoys time with his wife, three sons and friends. An avid golfer, home cook and baker, he’s always happy to try a new recipe or put his own spin on an old favourite.

Senior Site Supervisor
Dale
Dale brings extensive residential construction experience, practical leadership and a commitment to craftsmanship to every project. He oversees site operations, coordinates trades and helps ensure each home meets Hyer’s high standards.
Known for his attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, Dale plays an important role in turning plans into beautifully finished homes.
Outside of work, Dale enjoys camping, travelling and exploring new places with his wife and three sons. He particularly loves experiencing different cultures throughout Europe, where one of his most memorable adventures was getting married in Ireland.

Conan
With more than 35 years of construction experience, Conan brings exceptional skill, precision and practical knowledge to the Hyer team. His commitment to craftsmanship and understanding of the building process help ensure that every detail receives the attention it deserves.
A respected member of the team, Conan takes pride in sharing his knowledge, supporting his colleagues and creating homes built to stand the test of time.
Outside of work, Conan enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter.

Addison
Addison combines technical knowledge, strong organizational skills and a collaborative approach to project management. A graduate of BCIT’s BBA program with distinction, he brings both educational and industry experience to coordinating the many moving parts of a successful build.
From managing timelines and coordinating teams to overseeing project details, Addison helps keep work organized, communication clear and projects moving forward.
Outside of work, Addison enjoys spending time with his wife and son, exploring the outdoors and making the most of life in British Columbia.

Site Supervisor
Sawyer
Sawyer helps oversee day-to-day construction operations, coordinating trades, maintaining schedules and ensuring workmanship meets Hyer’s standards.
Reliable, detail-oriented and committed to quality, he takes pride in keeping projects running smoothly and making sure the care behind a Hyer home is reflected throughout the construction process.
Outside of work, Sawyer enjoys staying active, spending time with family and friends and taking on new challenges.

Foreman
Max
Max brings strong leadership, hands-on experience and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship to his role as Foreman. With an eye for detail and a commitment to quality, he helps guide construction work and ensure each element is executed with care.
When he’s not building, Max is usually exploring the outdoors. From hiking, cycling and backcountry adventures to skiing and camping, he makes the most of British Columbia’s mountains and wilderness.

Steven
With more than 40 years of residential construction experience, Steven brings invaluable knowledge, dedication and a strong work ethic to the Hyer team.
Known for his positive attitude and willingness to lend a hand wherever needed, Steven helps keep daily site operations moving. His favourite part of the job is seeing the finished home and knowing he contributed to bringing it to life.
Outside of work, Steven enjoys exploring British Columbia, often accompanied by Diana, his faithful yellow Labrador.
